Located on the outskirts of Belize City, Old Belize is a huge
complex including a marina, museum, restaurant, and recreation
beach. The Gift Shop which terminated the museum tour was in need of
a visual upgrade.
We started with bare, concrete floor and the old product posts
and wall racks, all of which were removed. A large, unused
AC duct was removed and all overhead wiring and visible supports
were painted black.
A simple, television set construction was accomplished at a
nearby shop with all-new materials. Most of the windows were very
old, salvaged from the past of the real, old Belize; some still
carrying the high-water mud marks of floods or past hurricanes. The
new windows and turned-posts we needed were manufactured at the
Belize Prison by their excellent woodshop trainees.
